Our first experience with Big Jim's Restaurant was a good one.
Arrived around 6:15pm on a Friday night and got seated right away. After that, it seemed the place filled up quickly.
Started with the clam chowder...solid soup. One item...it wasn't hot - just warm.
My chicken philly was large and really flavorful...they packed on the french fries as well. My wife's salmon dinner was also good. Her salad and bake potato sides were large.
Service was attentive and prompt.
Once again...a strong first impression. -

My 1st evaluation of this place was in March, 2016. The place was poor, and I vowed never to eat there again.
I had done a good job keeping that promise to myself. Unfortunately, my office decided to order lunch from there.
I ordered the seared Ahi tuna. When it came, it had a metallic sheen, see the picture included, and it tasted as spoiled as it looked.
My family has a very firm rule. You only get one chance to kill us, and Big Jim's has failed to do so, they won't get another chance. Do yourself a favor and stay away -

Literally come from Michigan to Florida with my family to eat here! This place is the top place we talk about when we vacay in the area. I thought I was wrong to choose the Alfredo pasta and replaced the meat to medium rare sirloin but honestly I got it every time we went and it was to die for! The food here is incredible. The meat is cooked to perfection!
The philly is uhmazing! The steaks are phenomenal! The burgers are delicious! And the ribs are to die for! Even the Ceasar salad was amazing and I hate rabbit food! This place is the place to bring family and friends to eat at! I recommend eating inside for lunch due to the hot weather during that time but at night eating in the patio area is awesome! I recommend this place to anyone! Rocky was our main man to serve us and seat us! He's cool! -

Fantastic steaks. Great service at the bar. Lorraine is an awesome bartender! The wings are great. The salad fresh. And the French onion soup bubbly and delicious.

This was our second visit to big Jim's new location. We had been to their old spot on Ulmerton Road several times with mixed reactions.
We came here on a busy Saturday night, around 6 PM. We were seated right away with no wait. We sat at the last available table, this place was jampacked.
As I usually do I checked out my handy yelp app and read the reviews for big Jim's. I saw a review from my Yelp friend Crystal H, stating that the cheesesteaks and French onion soup we're very good here. So that's what I went with, and I was not disappointed.
The French onion soup was absolutely delicious. Cheesesteak was very solid, with lots of shredded steak, Onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Topped off with American cheese melted throughout the steak.
Excellent choice, thanks Crystal!!
